Emese Gojdar

Hi, I’m Emese or simply Mesi. I’m a Hungarian cartographer and GIS specialist currently studying in the Copernicus Digital Earth Master’s program, spending my semesters in Salzburg (AT) and currently in Olomouc (CZ). My background spans four years of professional GIS experience in Budapest, where I worked as a GIS Analyst and GIS Engineer. I worked on Hungary’s agricultural CAP monitoring system, supporting various GIS-related tasks within the project, and later supported the UK’s HS2 high-speed rail project as part of the Land Referencer team, providing mapping and spatial data processing on a daily basis. I also spent several months working with a sustainability-focused startup, collecting and organising spatial datasets and helping with social media content.

I’m passionate about cartography, digital illustration, and environmental data, and my current work focuses on combining creative visual storytelling with geospatial analysis. I like staying up-to-date with new tools and industry developments, and I regularly attend conferences, workshops, and specialised courses to broaden my skills. Outside of work, I’m happiest in nature hiking, taking photos or exploring new places. When I’m at home, I love cooking, baking, drawing and unwinding with video games.
